A text message template is a ready-made SMS with placeholders, like {Name} or {Date}, that you fill in for each person. It saves time and keeps your messages consistent.
Aim for under 160 characters without emoji. That fits in one SMS segment, which is the cheapest to send and easiest to read. Every template here shows its segment count.
Include an opt-out like “Reply STOP to opt out” on marketing and promotional texts. Transactional texts the person asked for, like their own appointment reminder, usually don't need it, but check the rules where you are.
Paste the template into EpicTexting, on the web or in ChatGPT, or use the Google Sheets add-on. {Name} and other placeholders are filled in for each recipient, and everyone gets their own text.
Sparingly. A single emoji switches the whole message to Unicode, which fits only 70 characters per segment, so a 150-character text costs three segments instead of one.
